Safety is our first priority and we want everyone to be a responsible rider to ensure safety for yourself, other riders on the road and the community. There are basic rules that all riders need to follow to join Slowroll. In order for us to proceed with Slowroll, these rules needs to be followed along with guidance of lead riders.
Riders in BLUE SHIRTS are the Lead Riders and Runners that keep you safe on the road. They are the ones who create and test the routes, lead the ride, direct traffic, handle crowd control and keep everyone safe. Every participant of slowroll must follow all directions given by them and be coorperative. Do not attempt to make own decisions and block traffic unless asked, as our staff is trained to know when to stop the ride and when to stop vehicle traffic for the ride.
Always stay on the right side of the road, using no more than one lane, and NEVER cross the yellow line into oncoming traffic, even if there are no cars. Let's show the community that we can share the roads safely and respectfully.
Use hand and verbal signals to communicate with other riders. Shout out turns, stops, passing, debris or obstructions, and anything else that will keep the group safe.
As the road is for the public to use, we have to learn to respect other road users. Before and after the ride, be sure to keep the road clear. Always leave a lane open while riding and when you hear "car back" be sure to move as far to the right as possible to allow traffic to pass safely. When coming to a stop, do not ride past those stopping in front of you – stay in line.
It is extremely important to have your helmet on so make sure you wear it at all times during the ride.
Be alert at your surroundings as you're surrounded by thousands of bikers and hundreds of motorists and cars. Make sure you're conscious of everyone and everything around you to keep yourself and others safe.
One of the most basic rule in every kind of event, DO NOT LITTER! The road is for the community and we do not want to see trash lying everywhere.
There’s a reason why this is called Slowroll. Please do not attempt to speed past the leader and cut lines of other riders.
Meet people and get involved, Slow Roll strengthens our community by bringing people together.
